Malgorzata BICZYSKO is Associate Professor at the International Center for Quantum and Molecular Structures (ICQMS) at Shanghai University since 2015. She obtained her Master degree in Chemistry in 1994 and PhD in Theoretical Chemistry in 2000 from the University of Wroclaw (Poland). She has been an European Union Marie Curie Networks post-doc at the Universities of Bologna (Italy) , Helsinki (Finland) and Coimbra (Portugal) (2000-2006) and a post-doctoral researcher at University "Federico II" of Naples, Italian Institute of Technology and Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa (2006-2014). In 2014 she obtained the Italian National Scientific Qualification as associate professor in Physical Chemistry, and worked as a Reasercher at Italian Research Council, ICCOM-CNR-UoS Pisa (2014-2015).
She is co-author of over 100 papers in ISI journals and 6 book chapters with a Hirsch Index of 36 and Editor of Journal of Molecular Structure (Elsevier) and Editorial Board member of International Journal of Quantum Chemistry (Wiley).
Research field
Malgorzata BICZYSKO works on the development of computational protocols for molecular spectroscopy. Her research experience is mainly related to the validation of approaches to simulate spectra and their applications for molecular systems ranging from small molecules and complexs of astro- and atmospheric chemistry interests, toward large non-periodic complex systems featuring dispersion interactions, hydrogen bonding, variable local stereochemistry-conformation, and chirality. She is particularly interested in the impact of nuclear motion on the spectroscopic observables and of several subtle interactions as the non-adiabatic and/or anharmonic couplings, environmental (protein, nano-systems, solvent, clusters, metal surfaces, etc.) effects on the overall spectroscopic phenomena. MB is a member of CMST COST Action CM1405 Molecules in motion (MOLIM).
